Play Therapy Base is delighted to receive funding from The Pixel Fund the £2,000 grant will contribute to the running costs of our third playroom. We will be able to offer an additional 25 sessions per week from the space plus have space to meet families enquiring about the service. Play Therapy Base is a children's mental health charity which was established by 4 Play Therapists in 2011 to offer 3-14 yr old children living in the Lothians an accessible non-direct therapeutic service.
Many of the children accessing the service have been impacted by life events, trauma, neglect or significant loss that has made making sense of the world and their feelings very hard. Using play children show our team of the qualified therapist how the world looks and feels for them. Children use play materials to explore their stories building confidence and self-esteem.
